If you are having trouble finding emails because Gmail groups messages into conversations or places emails in different tabs or folders, this article explains how to turn off Conversation View and check other Gmail folders where emails may appear.
Turn Off Gmail Conversation View
Turning off Conversation View can help emails appear as separate messages instead of grouped threads.
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner of Gmail.
- Select See all settings.
- Stay on the General tab.
- Scroll down to the Conversation view section.
- Select Conversation view off.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click Save Changes.
After saving, Gmail will display emails individually instead of grouping them into threaded conversations.
Check Other Gmail Folders and Tabs
If you still cannot find an email, Gmail may have filtered it into another folder or tab.
Check the following locations:
- Promotions
- Updates
- Spam
- Trash
- Social
- All Mail
You can also use the Gmail search bar and search by:
- Sender name
- Email address
- Event or product name
- Keywords from the email subject line
Add Hay House Emails to Your Primary Inbox
To help future emails appear in your main inbox:
- Find a Hay House email in Gmail.
- Drag the email into the Primary tab.
- When Gmail asks if you want future messages from this sender delivered there, select Yes.
You can also add the sender email address to your Gmail contacts list.
Troubleshooting Tips
If emails are still missing:
- Make sure you entered the correct email address when signing up or placing your order.
- Search for terms like “Hay House,” the event name, or the author name.
- Wait a few minutes and refresh your inbox.
- Check whether your inbox filters automatically archive or label emails.
