Thank you for your interest in publishing with Hay House. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting.
Who Can Submit?
We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts or proposals. If you send an unsolicited manuscript or proposal outside of these channels, it will not be reviewed — and will be discarded. Submissions are only considered via:

A writer who is a current member of one of our Writer’s Membership programs, or
A writer who has participated in our Book Writer’s Bootcamp VIP program.
Agents: How to Submit?
Agents should prepare a proposal and sample chapters — either as a PDF or Word document and send to Editorial@HayHouse.com. Please note that we only review manuscripts written in English.
I attended a Writer’s Bootcamp or are a member of a Writer's Membership; how do I submit my proposal or manuscript?
If you attended a Bootcamp please check your book proposal manual, if you are a member of one of the Writer’s Membership, details regarding your submission will be inside your membership platform. Do you have more information for Writers?
Most writers, regardless of the genre they’ve concentrated on, will want to share their work with the public by having it published as a book. The first and most important thing is do your own research. Find out about the various ways of getting your book traditionally published, the roles of publishers and literary agents, and exploring the options of self-publishing and acquiring a distributor. The internet is great for this, as are books like "Get Signed" by respected literary agent, Lucinda Halpern or "The Book You Were Born to Write" by founder of KN Literary Arts, Kelly Notaras.
Establish who your ideal reader is, and what the market is like for your book. Are there already other books similar to yours available? The more research you’ve undertaken into the market, in addition to the processes involved in selecting and publishing a manuscript, the better chance you have. You might also consider attending one of our Writer’s Bootcamps or joined one of our two memberships.
If you are in search of a literary agent, please note that Hay House do not provide lists of names or specific agent recommendations, but the best thing to do is to look up which agents represent your favorite authors also writing in your subject area either on the author’s website or even in the acknowledgments section of their book. You could also consult a website such as www.querytracker.net, www.manuscriptwishlist.com/ or www.publishersmarketplace.com.
What other options are there?
There are many self-publishing options available. Hay House has a dedicated division called Balboa Press that helps authors self-publish their books. Partnering with Author Solutions, a
leader in this field, we offer a full-service publishing company in Balboa, with various packages
and price points available. Some packages even include support to help achieve marketplace
success. Books published by Balboa Press are kept separate from those sold by Hay House.
However, we continually review book sales and successful titles will be picked up and
republished by Hay House. For more information on Balboa Press, please visit
www.BalboaPress.com.
